Simone
Simone is the Director and Co-Founder of CHAMP, and a dedicated paediatric occupational therapist with a decade of experience supporting children and their families. Passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment, she is committed to ensuring CHAMP remains a centre of excellence for specialist paediatric therapy.
She graduated with an Honours degree in Occupational Therapy from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, where she was awarded the Best Undergraduate Research Thesis for Allied Health Sciences, later presented at the World Federation of Occupational Therapists Congress in 2018. Her extensive clinical experience spans hospital and community settings, private practice, and schools, where she has worked with children facing a wide range of neurodevelopmental, sensory, and motor challenges.
Simone is a qualified Ayres Sensory Integration (ASI®) practitioner through the South African Institute of Sensory Integration (SAISI), and is trained in diagnosing Dyspraxia using gold-standard assessments. She is also a certified ADOS-2 practitioner, enabling her to provide diagnostic assessments for Autism (ASC), as well as a qualified SOS-Feeding practitioner with additional training in Therapeutic Listening. Her expertise includes assessing and supporting children with sensory processing difficulties/disorders, feeding challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, physical developmental delays, retained reflexes, and handwriting difficulties.
Simone is a dedicated champion for children’s rights and well-being, with extensive experience in Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications, assessments, mediations and tribunal cases. She collaborates closely with leading legal firms and EHCP coordinators across London to guide families through these processes, ensuring that children receive the services and support they need.
Alongside her clinical work, Simone plays a central role in supporting and supervising the CHAMP team, ensuring that every therapist is well-equipped to deliver exceptional, evidence-based care. She is deeply committed to maintaining high clinical standards across the practice, fostering a culture where both families and staff feel heard, valued, and consistently well supported.
Beyond her clinical work, Simone enjoys travelling and discovering hidden corners of London. She recharges by spending time with family and friends, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.
