Ruby

Ruby is a passionate paediatric occupational therapist originally from New Zealand, with experience supporting children and young people across a range of developmental areas. She holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Otago Polytechnic and began her career in Hobart, Australia, working in private practice.

Ruby brings a compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming approach to her work and is deeply committed to building strong, trusting relationships with the children and families she supports. Her clinical experience spans sensory processing, emotional regulation, motor development, and daily living skills, with a particular focus on enabling meaningful participation at home, school, and in the community.

She adopts a trauma-informed, child-led approach, and is known for her playful, curious, and reflective style of communication. Ruby is especially interested in sensory integration and is currently exploring postgraduate study in this area to further her expertise.

Ruby has completed additional professional development in DIR Floortime®, SPiRiT Clinical Reasoning, the SOSI-M and COP-R observational tools, and Kim Barthel’s Psychosensory Approaches to Trauma. She is confident in using a range of standardised assessments to inform thoughtful, evidence-based, and individualised intervention planning.

Ruby works collaboratively with families, educators, and fellow professionals to create consistent, strengths-based support around each child. She is passionate about making therapy fun, functional, and meaningful—celebrating each child’s unique abilities and perspective.

Outside of work, Ruby enjoys travelling, discovering new places with friends, and is always on the lookout for a good coffee and pastry.
