Emma

Emma is a paediatric occupational therapist who is passionate about child-led, relationship-focused therapy that celebrates each child’s unique way of being. She holds an Honours degree in Occupational Therapy from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, and has specialised in Ayres Sensory Integration® (ASI®) through ASI Wise.

Emma has developed her clinical knowledge further through training in interoception, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), specialised wheelchair seating, and DIR Floortime® 101. Her work spans a variety of settings, including clinics, specialist schools and mainstream environments, where she supports children with a wide range of developmental profiles, including Autism, ADHD, PDA, anxiety, sensory processing differences and developmental delays.

Emma brings a neurodiversity-affirming approach to all aspects of her practice. She believes in respecting and valuing each child’s individual profile and is committed to creating a safe, validating space where children feel understood and empowered. Her sessions are playful and purposeful, and are designed to meet the child where they are in order to support confidence, connection and meaningful participation. She works collaboratively with families, teachers and other professionals to ensure strategies are practical, individualised and embedded across the child’s daily environments. Emma finds deep reward in helping families navigate everyday routines more smoothly and enjoy more connected, meaningful interactions.

When she’s not working, Emma enjoys spending time on her allotment, getting lost in a good book and travelling.
